Simon has 30 years’ experience in the financial service industry working at Cazenove & Co, Aberdeen Asset Management and New Star where he headed up the Private Client Discretionary Management department. Whilst there, working on a joint venture with a well-established national network gave him an insight into the opportunities within the financial planning industry and in 2011 he completed the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. He brings a strong investment background complemented by his ability to advise on pensions, IHT planning and business protection to Thomson Tyndall. Simon is a member of the Thomson Tyndall Management Committee and the Asset Allocation and Risk Committee.
Mike is a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner, and has thirty years’ experience as a financial adviser. He joined Thomson Tyndall in January 2019 having also worked at PQR Financial Planning among other companies. Mike focuses on ensuring that his clients have a carefree and financially secure retirement by advising them on effectively planning for their retirement, and the various choices available at the point of retirement (including flexibly accessing pension benefits and pension transfers). As part of his work he also manages clients’ investment portfolios, and advises on tax and estate planning as well as planning for long term care needs. Mike is a regular speaker on all of these subjects at seminars delivered around the country to several large national employers.<< Back
John is a specialist consultant at Thomson Tyndall. He has over 40 years’ experience in advising private clients on financial planning, having set up Thomson Financial with John Dyson in 1969. John looks after private clients and specialises in pre-and post-retirement planning, as well as advising on estate and inheritance tax matters.
He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and holds a degree from Cambridge University.<< Back
Starting as an IFA with Towry (Law) in 1964, John left to set up Thomson’s in 1969 and subsequently worked with John Dalton until the business was sold and became Chase de Vere. They moved on together to help set up PQR Financial Planning and have now joined forces again under the Thomson Tyndall banner.
John looks after private clients and specialises in pre-and post-retirement planning, as well as advising on estate and inheritance tax matters; he lives in London and the South of France.

Stephanie has around 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, prior to which she graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in English. Stephanie joined Thomson Tyndall with Simon Akroyd in 2016, having previously worked with him at PQR Financial Planning. She is now part of the management team in her role as Director of Operations, with overall responsibility for HR, systems, and marketing, and assists with the smooth running of the compliance department. She still provides support to Simon in some aspects of client work, particularly on the retirement planning side. Stephanie holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and is currently studying to become a Chartered Financial Planner.<< Back
Jamie is a founder of Thomson Tyndall with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He was previously at PQR Financial Planning and at Jupiter Asset Management, where he was a fund manager within the private client & charities team. In addition to advising and managing client portfolios, Jamie has a special interest in charities investment and is an adviser to, and Trustee of, the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund and a Trustee of HomeStart Wandsworth. Jamie holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the Diploma in Financial Planning and is an Affiliate Member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Susan assisted Jamie Fergusson and John Dalton with the transition and set up of Thomson Tyndall in 2016. Susan has over 30 years of financial and customer services experience and works alongside John and Sajit helping them to look after their clients. Susan also oversees the day-to-day smooth running of the Thomson Tyndall offices and holds the Life Office Administration qualification from The Chartered Insurance Institute.<< Back
Will works alongside Jamie and Susan, assisting with research, analysis and general paraplanning work. In 2016, Will graduated with a first class honours degree in Economics from the University of East Anglia and then began working for a Wealth Management firm in the City before moving to Thomson Tyndall in 2017.<< Back
Diana has worked in the Financial Service industry since 1979, starting in the retail banking world. She was brought on board at Thomson Tyndall in the summer of 2016 to help manage the client and systems transition from PQR and Diana now works with John Dalton and Sajit Patel providing them with administrative support.<< Back
Tom is a founder of Thomson Tyndall, who alongside John Dyson, revived the original Thomson’s brand in 2013 to set up an independently authorised firm, focused on advising high net-worth clients on bespoke investment portfolios, pensions, and inheritance tax.
Tom started his career shortly after graduating from Bangor University, Wales with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies. He completed a Graduate Training programme at PBR Fund Management and later qualified to become a joint investment manager of a broad range of private client portfolios. Tom holds the Investment Management (IMC) and Discretionary Investment Management Certificate. He is a senior member of the Thomson Tyndall Management and Financial Planning Committee.<< Back
Zoe has worked in the Financial Service industry since 2004 starting with a role in Conveyancing. She came to Thomson Tyndall in the spring of 2018 and now works with Simon Akroyd providing him with administrative support.<< Back
Rahim joined Thomson Tyndall in 2017 from PQR. Before entering financial services, Rahim graduated with honours in LLB Law in the UK, after which he read LLM European Law in Belgium, before going on to qualify in Commercial Legal Practice at the University of Law in London.
Rahim acts for high net-worth private clients and advises on onshore and offshore investments, pensions and tax planning. His achievements in this field led to him being named in Private Client Practitioner Magazine’s ‘Top 35 under 35’ category in 2012 and 2013.
Rahim holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice and the Diploma in Financial Planning and is an Affiliate Member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).<< Back

He previously worked at PQR Financial Planning and has over 7-years’ experience within the industry. Zivile started her career shortly after graduating from Vilnius University, Lithuania with a BA (Hons) degree in Information Technologies.
